Thikri is a traditional glass inlay art form created by setting finely cut pieces of hand-blown glass into walls and ceilings. Arranged in intricate geometric and floral patterns, the artwork becomes part of the architecture rather than a separate decorative element.
Thin sheets of hand-blown convex glass are carefully cut into precise shapes using basic tools such as iron rods, chisels, and pliers. Each glass shard is placed individually onto a prepared lime plaster surface while it is still damp.
This is a highly intricate and labour-intensive process, where every piece is positioned by hand to ensure balance and flow, allowing the glass to catch and reflect light in different ways.
Thikri Art represents light, reflection, and movement. Rooted in heritage craftsmanship, it reflects harmony and rhythm through repeating patterns. As light changes throughout the day, the artwork appears different each time, giving the surface a living quality.
When placed within the villa, Thikri Art interacts beautifully with natural and ambient lighting. Under softer light sources, the glass pieces refract light multiple times, making it shimmer and dance gently across the room.

It’s a very beautifully made property. Attention to detailing in Architecture. Super aesthetic. We stayed in the indigo colour room. It was worth every penny. Location is also good it’s inside the main area still silent and chaos free. Food is also another highlight. Owner is very friendly and humble. They gave a complimentary jam roll. Must try if you are in Udaipur. Will visit again undoubtedly.
We stayed here for 4 night with 2 kids, the rooms are very spacious and very tidy. Ankit and team provided excellent service and DK served us amazing, delicious local delicacies (laal maas and dungar maas). The location is accessible to all major points within 15 minutes of auto ride with lake pichola being walking distance. We were very happy with the stay and service.
